Treadway Inn,
Attendees: Danny Cavallo, Diane Noga,

Harold Weissman,
Steve Neithardt, Pete Pennelle,
Don Jordan
East Region Rep: Patrick Holden
Danny Cavallo opened meeting
discussing Pool Play.
Danny received numerous calls
during tournament time concerning what Pool Play involved. Leagues had no idea what to do. The information is not getting back to the
local Leagues. It is the coordinators
responsibility to see that information is passed on to League Presidents and
Tournament host sites and Directors.
Once team’s numbers are drawn
for State Tournaments they must stay that way.
Make sure e-mails sent are
received, put a please reply note in your e-mails so you know they received it.
Double headers: Pat suggested that the Section Coordinators
sign that they approve
double headers in Tournament Play and forward it to East Region.
Pool Play for 5 teams,
Softball. Danny suggested coming up with rules to cover this situation. Diane came up with a
scenario.
Danny asked Section
Coordinators if they would agree to a set of rules for 5 team
State
Softball Tournaments for age 12 and under.
Dan Salmon wanted to know if
we could have a scenario for each number of teams for 12 and under. Dan Salmon and Diane Noga
will write a condensed version of 5 teams, for 12 and under.
Big League: Pete Pennelle
suggested double elimination for Big League Baseball.
He cited that the older kids
have jobs and cars and you need to get these kids in and out as quickly as you
can.
Section Coordinators voted on
making Big League Baseball double elimination.
All six (6) Coordinators
voted yes. This item will be presented to DAs at Saturday’s meeting.
Senior Softball: Joe Sagaria agreed
to host Senior Softball States for the next three (3) years. All Coordinators agreed. This is pending DAs’ approval at the State
meeting.
Junior Softball: Guy Madsen agreed to host Junior Softball
States for the next
three (3)
years. All Coordinators agreed. This is pending DAs’ approval at State
meeting.
Danny suggested looking at
ways to lower Tournament costs. Many
players do not stay after the games, so try cutting back on free food and
banquets, which in the past have not drawn that well. Also cutting back on free gifts is another
way you can lower costs.
Meeting adjourned.
Respectfully submitted,
Don Jordan
Secretary
