NY State Section Coordinators Meeting
September 19, 2008
Treadway Inn,
Attendees: Danny Cavallo, Pete Pennelle, Don Jordan, Dan Salmon, Joe Sagaria,
Harold Weissman, Guy Madsen, Ralph Borzello, Bill Kollmer, Carol Kollmer
Danny presented scenarios for pool play in State Tournaments for 2 to 6 teams.
All agreed, that for 2 and 3 teams double elimination was the best scenario.
For 4, 5 and 6 teams, pool play was the best scenario. A crossover game was also discussed for the 6 team pool play which would add one more day to the Tournament.
This would not apply to the upper levels, because they can play double headers.
Blocking rooms for State tournaments was brought up by Dan Salmon. Who was responsible for the rooms, the DA, the host League, the Section Coordinator or the State. No clear answer was brought forth. Danny mentioned going to the hotels and letting them know, that you would not know who was coming in until Wednesday, or possibly Thursday of that week.
Field dimensions for 9-10, 10-11 and Majors was brought up by Joe Sagaria.
Certain fields used in Tournament Play were not 200 feet.
It was decided, that for Section Play; if the field was less than 200 feet, the Section
Coordinator should apply for a waiver from East Region to utilize the field.
For State Tournaments; it was decided, that the State Association
would have to vote unanimously, for that field be used. It would also have to be presented to East
Region, then
Respectfully submitted,
Don Jordan
Interim Secretary
